Great Ways to Renew, Soothe and Relax the Mind, Body and Soul at Home Each and Every Day
Put on a relaxing CD and light an aromatherapeutic Back to Basics Fragranced Candle in calming Raspberry or soothing Green Tea to help set the mood for relaxation. Lie down and just close your eyes for a few minutes and concentrating on breathing. Take in calm, centered breaths through your nose, while focusing on a pleasant relaxing thought, like a special beach, a favorite moment, or a garden. Breathe in slowly for a count of ten and then slowly begin to exhale all of the built up tension, stress and worries through your mouth. Continue doing so for a count of ten. Repeat several times to help calm your body and clear your mind.
Run a warm bath. Make sure it's not hot, as it will only dry out your skin and make it flaky. Add two-to-three tablespoons of either Back to Basics Sunflower Foaming Bath Powder, Ginger Bath Crystals or Green Tea Bath Salts into your bath and let your tension slip away. Use a bath pillow and a silky smooth bath sponge for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. Scatter rose petals in your bath, light a Back to Basics fragranced candle, and relax to your favorite tunes. Bathe for at least twenty minutes to let the healing elements penetrate the skin, while inhaling the aromatherapeutic vapors.
Make massage part of your daily life. Daily massage helps to reduce tension, draw out lactic acid from sore muscles and helps to cut your recovery time after intense exercise. It helps to calm and clarify and it's one of the easiest ways to revive your body, soul and mind. For the ultimate in luxury, massage using a rich, creamy lotion, like Back to Basics Lotion in Ginger, Green Tea, Melon, Sunflower or Raspberry.
Give yourself a weekly footbath. Run a cold water bath to help heal hot, swollen feet after a long day, combat fatigue and exhaustion, and provide soothing aromatherapy to your senses. Toss in a sprig of rosemary with its leaves broken up and add six drops of tea tree oil. The combination of the analgesic properties of the rosemary with the antiseptic properties of the tea tress oil will leave those toes feeling fresh and awakened. Once you dry off, apply a generous amount of rich lotion, like Back to Basics Ginger Renewing Body Lotion, and put on a pair of socks and go relax for 15 minutes, or better yet sleep in them. The longer you wear them, the deeper the moisturizing properties will get into the skin. The result? Kissably soft, silky smooth feet.
Most importantly, listen to your body. When you're tired, sleep. When you're hungry, eat. When you're stressed, find the time to relax and renew. Take time for yourself each and every day. You'll feel the benefits faster than you think.
